the sink is cracked and so is my back

Not really. I'm just dang exhausted from leaning over a too-short sink all day. Washing out fabric is the worst. This was a mighty productive day, though. I made three more quilt tops and dyed backing and binding fabric for 4 quilts (some of the fabric is above, drying). Tomorrow I can start pinning and quilting. I'm very excited to have some quilts completed.

this one has screen printed fabric instead of shibori

They will all look much better once they're quilted with beautifully colored thread in fantastic patterns, and then washed and ironed. Then they will be irresistible. Just wait.

And here is a picture of me hiding in the garden. Which reminds me I need to pick tomatoes.

  3. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL WORK!!! I have been looking at google images for inspiration for my next quilt using my latest batch of hand dyes (9 6-step 2-color gradations) I stumbled on your site and I love the fact that you use the gradations AS the quilt theme. I too think they are beautiful AS IS and don't really even need to be cut down further and made into blocks all the time!!! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful stuff! I would love to know - what is this percentage dyeing you speak of?
PS.. my back is ACHING bending over the tub to rinse out my drain - out of synthropol so heading to the LQS for some more!!!

  5. I love your garden! That's similar to how ours looked this summer.

PS I love your quilts too. I am working on a series of hand quilted wool-felted quilts, and seeing your work reminds me that I should keep working on them.

  6. I love wool quilts. Do you felt them from wool fleece, or from knit/woven fabric?

  7. I usually felt (actually, I think the term is 'full') wool sweaters from thrift stores and cut them up. I am working on the binding of one. I'll post images when I am finished.
